1. GENERAL CANCELLATION TERMS
1.1 Free Cancellation Period
Standard Bookings: Free cancellation up to 48 hours before arrival date
Peak Season/Holiday Bookings: Free cancellation up to 7 days before arrival date
Special Events/Local Festivals: Free cancellation up to 14 days before arrival date
1.2 Cancellation Methods
Cancellations must be made through:
- Email to info@fairytale.com.gr with booking reference number
- Phone call during business hours: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Online booking management system (if available)
Important: Cancellations are effective from the time we receive and acknowledge your request, not when you send it.
2. CANCELLATION FEES BY TIMING
2.1 Standard Rate Bookings
More than 7 days before arrival:
- No cancellation fee
- Full refund processed
2-7 days before arrival:
- 50% of total booking amount charged
- 50% refund processed
24-48 hours before arrival:
- 75% of total booking amount charged
- 25% refund processed
Less than 24 hours before arrival:
- 100% of total booking amount charged
- No refund available
2.2 Peak Season Bookings
Applies to: Christmas, New Year, Easter, Summer (July-August), Local Festivals
More than 14 days before arrival:
- No cancellation fee
- Full refund processed
7-14 days before arrival:
- 50% of total booking amount charged
- 50% refund processed
2-7 days before arrival:
- 75% of total booking amount charged
- 25% refund processed
Less than 48 hours before arrival:
- 100% of total booking amount charged
- No refund available
2.3 Non-Refundable Bookings
Special Promotional Rates:
- Clearly marked as "Non-Refundable" during booking
- No cancellation permitted under any circumstances
- No refund available regardless of timing
- Modifications may not be permitted
3. NO-SHOW POLICY
3.1 Definition
A "no-show" occurs when:
- Guest fails to arrive on check-in date without prior notice
- Guest arrives more than 24 hours late without confirmation
- No contact is made by 12:00 PM the day after scheduled arrival
3.2 No-Show Charges
- 100% of total booking amount will be charged
- No refund will be processed
- Room may be released to other guests
- Remaining nights of multi-night stays will be cancelled
3.3 Late Arrival Procedure
To avoid no-show charges:
- Contact us if arriving after 9:00 PM
- Provide estimated arrival time
- Confirm your intention to honor the booking
- Arrange key collection or late check-in procedures
4. MODIFICATION POLICY
4.1 Permitted Modifications
Changes allowed (subject to availability):
- Check-in/check-out dates
- Room type upgrade/downgrade
- Number of guests (within room capacity)
- Special requests and preferences
4.2 Modification Fees
More than 7 days before arrival:
- No modification fee
- Price difference applies if applicable
2-7 days before arrival:
- €25 modification fee
- Price difference applies if applicable
Less than 48 hours before arrival:
- Modifications not permitted
- Cancellation policy applies
4.3 Modification Restrictions
- Non-refundable bookings: Limited modifications only
- Peak season: Modifications subject to availability
- Same-day modifications: Not permitted
- Group bookings: Special terms may apply
5. REFUND PROCESSING
5.1 Refund Timeline
Credit Card Payments:
- Processing time: 5-10 business days
- Refunds appear on original payment method
- Bank processing may add additional time
Bank Transfer/Wire Transfer:
- Processing time: 3-5 business days
- Transferred to original bank account
- International transfers may take longer
Third-Party Booking Platforms:
- Refund processed through original booking platform
- Platform's refund policy and timeline applies
- Contact original booking platform for status
5.2 Refund Deductions
Refunds may be reduced by:
- Applicable cancellation fees
- Payment processing charges (3-5%)
- Currency conversion fees (if applicable)
- Bank transfer fees (international transfers)
6. SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
6.1 Force Majeure Events
Covered Events:
- Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, severe weather)
- Government travel restrictions or lockdowns
- Airline strikes affecting travel
- Medical emergencies with documentation
- Property closure due to unforeseen circumstances
Force Majeure Policy:
- Full refund provided regardless of timing
- Alternative dates offered when possible
- No cancellation fees applied
- Travel voucher option available
6.2 Medical Emergencies
Accepted Documentation:
- Medical certificate from licensed physician
- Hospital admission records
- Death certificate (for family emergencies)
- Travel insurance claim documentation
Medical Emergency Benefits:
- Cancellation fees waived with proper documentation
- Full refund or credit for future use
- 12-month validity for travel credits
6.3 Travel Restrictions
Government-Imposed Restrictions:
- Full refund if official travel ban in place
- Documentation of travel restriction required
- Alternative dates offered when restrictions lift
- No penalty fees applied
7. GROUP BOOKINGS
7.1 Group Booking Definition
- 5 or more rooms booked together
- Wedding parties, corporate events
- Special event group reservations
7.2 Group Cancellation Terms
More than 30 days before arrival:
- Free cancellation of entire group
- Individual room cancellations permitted
15-30 days before arrival:
- 25% penalty on total booking value
- Up to 20% room reduction permitted
7-15 days before arrival:
- 50% penalty on total booking value
- No room reduction permitted
Less than 7 days before arrival:
- 100% penalty on total booking value
- No refunds available
8. OVERBOOKING POLICY
8.1 Overbooking Situations
In rare cases of overbooking:
- Alternative accommodation of equal or higher standard provided
- Transportation to alternative property covered
- Compensation for inconvenience provided
- Full refund if alternative not acceptable
8.2 Compensation for Overbooking
- One night accommodation cost as compensation
- Transportation costs covered
- Priority rebooking for future dates
- Upgrade on return visit (subject to availability)
9. EARLY DEPARTURE POLICY
9.1 Voluntary Early Departure
- No refund for unused nights
- Standard check-out procedures apply
- Early departure must be communicated to reception
- Charges for full booking period remain applicable
9.2 Involuntary Early Departure
Due to guest misconduct:
- No refund for remaining nights
- Full payment for reserved period due
- Additional charges for damages if applicable
Due to property issues:
- Refund for unused nights provided
- Alternative accommodation offered
- Compensation for inconvenience

11.2 Booking Confirmation
Cancellations are only valid when confirmed in writing by Fairytale Suites.
11.3 Third-Party Bookings
For bookings made through third-party platforms, their cancellation policies may also apply. Please check with the booking platform for additional terms.
11.4 Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unexpected cancellations not covered by our policy.
This cancellation policy forms part of our Terms of Use and is subject to Greek law. For disputes, Greek courts have jurisdiction.
